The Presentation of Storybook “Call Me as Your Son” by Arsen Yeremyan at the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia PDF Print E-mail

On the 19th of July, at the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia the presentation of storybook “Call Me as Your Son” by philologist and meritorious journalist of Georgia Arsen Yeremyan took place. International Cultural and Educational Union "Russian Club" (Chairman – Nikolai Sventitski, Honored Art Worker of Russia) and the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia initiated the event. The Primate of the Diocese f the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Advisor to the President of Georgia Van Baiburtian, Academician Tengiz Uchaneishvili, Professor Gizo Urushadze, veteran of Public Television of Georgia Igor Nagornin, figures of foreign language literature, culture and arts and the readership attended the presentation.

Philologist, journalist and editor Arsen Yeremyan has worked for many years at the newspaper offices of “Vecherni Tbilisi”, “Zaria Vostoka”, “Gruzia-spektr”, and presently is the deputy editor of the magazine "Russian Club". Years of working as a journalist did not prevent Arsen Yeremyan from writing in different literary genres. Excellent perception of the literary material, close contact with the world of sport, an interesting life of a journalist give a rich material for his literary works. Yeremyan’s books were published in Tbilisi and Moscow, in Russian and Georgian languages. Those are several compilations of poems, short stories and essays.

The organizer of the presentation Artem Grigorents (Kirakozov), responsible for the department of foreign-language writers at theVernatunUnion of Armenian Writers of Georgia, opened the event and said, that recently a conference of Armenian foreign-language writers took place in Tsakhkadzor RA, in which he took part on behalf of the International Union "Russian Club" and presented the storybook by Arsen Yeremyan "Call Me as Your Son", since the author himself due to illness could not go to Tsahkadzor. He underlined that the participants showed interest in the works of Arsen Yeremyan, in his storybook "Call Me as Your Son" in particular. The storybook was published within the framework of the project of International Union “Russian Club”, with the support of the Union of Writers of Georgia and RA Union of Writers and Cartu-International Charity Foundation sponsorship.

This storybook includes author’s works based on Georgian and Armenian materials. The writer’s works, who is a native of Tbilisi, have not only artistic value, but are historically rare as well. Their mission is to facilitate the sharing of spiritual values by two nations, to preserve and develop the centuries-old cultural, social and political ties between Georgia and Armenia.

Speaking about the stories on sport life that have found place in the storybook, as famous musicologist, Professor of Tbilisi State Conservatoire Gulbat Toradze estimated, the storybook in fact represents the annals of Georgian and not only Georgian sport, where the stories on 42 athletes are printed, 8 of whom are Olympic Champions.

The representative of the Union “Russian Club”, the editor of former newspaper “Golovinski Prospect” Vladimir Golovin, deputy chief editor of newspaper “Literaturnaya Gruzia”, literary scholar Tamila Korinteli, the editor of "Vrastan" ("Georgia") Van Baiburtian and others highly appreciated the activities of a well-known journalist and multi-genre writer Arsen Yeremyan.

The duet of David Amirianashvili student Levan Londaridze and his mother Natia Aspanidze, pianist Nato Okropiridze, violinist Marianna Kirakozova and pianist Eteri Tskipurishvili finely performed classical music and songs, which were the perfect decoration for the event.
